Firefox Turn Off Google Tag Manager Preview

I recently added Google Tag Manager for a customer and in experimenting I added to my company website. Now in FireFox I am getting a preview pane at the bottom of the page. In Chrome this can be turned off, but I couldn’t find how to do in Firefox till I found the following article.

https://www.shoutmeloud.com/disable-google-tag-manager-preview-pane.html

The basics for this are:

  • Log in to Google Tag Manager.
  • Go to your site dashboard (Workspace < Overview).
  • Click on the option that says Leave Preview Mode.

I hope this helps someone else out there.

Google Analytics Not Displaying Full Page

Using Firefox I went into Google Analytics to see the results on a website recently launched and want to see if the SEO was going as planned. When I clicked on “landing pages” I was getting a double scroll on the right-side, and I couldn’t scroll down to the bottom of the results pane. It looked like this….

A search lead me to trying Chrome where it did work. Suggestion were to try this page “https://www.google.com/intl/en/analytics/”, but that was no help.

I resolved this issue by resizing the browser window. Grabbed one corner to adjust the size of the window and content on the page resized its self.

I hope this helps someone else out there…

Screen Ruler In Firefox

I often need to know the viewport or screen size when developing the style sheet for a site. It took a little bit to understand where to find the built in screen ruler in Firefox. Here are steps.

  1. Hit f12 to bring up the developer tools.
  2. Click on the gear to bring up the settings
  3. Scroll down till you find “Toggle rulers for the page”.
  4. Once that is checked you will see the ruler icon at the top of the toolbar.

  5. Clicking on the ruler icon will display the ruler on the page.
