Solved – Office 365 / Outook.com Not Receiving Emails From Website Form

Finished a site that is on Godaddy hosting, Domain is with Network Solution, and the Email is with Microsoft Office 365 Online.  The issue was the customer wasn’t receiving emails from the forms on the site.

The form would send to any email address except the clients email address. I contacted Microsoft and got wonderful help.

The fix was to use their “@theirdomain.onmicrosoft.com” email address and not the alias.

Microsoft told me it took them 3 days to determine this fix.

I really hope this helps someone else out there….

Remove wer5.exe With Adlice Rouge Killer

We have a customer that is having this “wer5.exe” pop-up. I never saw the pop-up; however, I was able to get the program removed using Adlice’s Rougekiller.

I tried Vipre antivirus and it didn’t find anything on the machine.

I used Malwarebytes which found 5 item.

Rougekiller found 12 items and “wer5.exe” was one of them.

Solved – QuickBooks is unable to open Error Codes: -6190, -816

Customer got this error.

QuickBooks is unable to open this company file. It may have been opened by another user.

We had all the users log out, but the single user trying to get was getting the error.

What I did to fix it was to log onto the server, run services, and restarted all the quickbook services.

  • QuickBooksDB22
  • QuickBooksDB25
  • QBCFMonitorService – This service was not running though set to start automatically. Starting this service got it working correctly.

Office 365 – Set Individual Email Account To Never Expire

You can do this through Power Shell. The following link has a video that makes this task easy.

https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Set-an-individual-user-s-password-to-never-expire-f493e3af-e1d8-4668-9211-230c245a0466?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US

Downloads:

Download and install the Microsoft Online Services Sign-In Assistant for IT Professionals RTW from the Microsoft Download Center.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=28177

Download and install the Azure Active Directory Module for Windows PowerShell (64-bit version).  The file you are looking for is named “WindowsAzurePowershellGet.3f.3f.3fnew.exe”

I found it on the following page, at the bottom under the heading “PowerShell” and “Windows install”.

https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/

Once you install the Active Directory Module you will need to restart your machine. Open the Powershell as an Administrator.

Once you type in the cmdlet: Connect-MsolService    , and hit enter you will be prompted for login credentials.

Use the Office 365 admin credentials.

The next line to type in is:    Set-MsolUser -UserPrincipalName theemailaccount@thedomain.com -PasswordNeverExpires $true         , hit enter.

You are done.

Install Windows 10 without needing a Windows 10 Product Key

I have a Win 7 pro licensed version. I wanted to make the July 29, 2016 deadline for free upgrade to Win 10. I didn’t want to loose my Win 7 configured drive yet. I purchased a inexpensive 250 Gig Solid State Drive for $65.00.

I unplugged the old drive. Plug the new one in. Put the Downloaded ISO disk of Windows 10 in the blue-ray drive. It found the drive and started the boot on the DVD. I had to partition the drive and format. During the install I was asked for the product key and I input my Win 7 pro product key. That was it.

It took about 10 minutes to install. After that I booted it booted to Win 10 and all was good.

Windows 10 download throwing error 8x800704DD – 0x90016

Here I am last minute trying to download and burn an ISO of Windows 10 before the free upgrade is over. I started the download of the MediaCreationTool. Looked like it was going to work fine, but I got the following error 8x800704DD – 0x90016

I am logged in as a user but ran the MediaCreationTool as an administrator.

Well that wasn’t good enough. I switched user to my Administrator account and everything download fine.

We have client that we recently moved their email from Godaddy POP account to a Microsoft 365 exchange account. A week later her Outlook email client was flashing the text “there are more items in this folder on the server”.

I quick search lead me to the following video on the old YouTube that totally resolved the issue. Which was to uncheck the Offline Caching.
